Crazy Hair Day ...... check out our creative styles!!!!!

P7s have been learning about our local area in the World Around Us.  We met with Patrick McAteer from the Cranfield Heritage Group who very kindly told us lots of interesting things about Cranfield Chruch, Graveyard and St. Olcan's Holy Well.  We had a brilliant afternoon.  Peter and Emma were very lucky as they each got a very treasured amber stone from the holy well!  Thank you Patrick!

P.1,2 and 3 went on a school trip today. We went bowling and to soft play at Antrim Forum. We are learning all about castles so we had a walk around Antrim Castle Grounds.

We had a visit from Michael the librarian today. He told us all about "The big summer read." We can't wait!

We are working hard in our Eco garden. We were weeding, raking, planting and watering.

World Book Day Celebrations ...... aren't our costumes FANTASTIC!

Primary 7 made a beautiful banner for the "Mothers and Others" Gaelic football team from Creggan club who are going out to Munich to play in a football  tournament over St. Patrick's weekend. We wish them Ádh mór - Good luck from everyone here in Creggan Primary school!
Primary 7 had a fantastic day at the Seamus Heaney Homeplace. They enjoyed visiting the exhibition and listening to the poet reading some of his famous poems like "Digging." They saw some of the places, people and objects which influenced Seamus Heaney's poetry. They enjoyed the workshop where they made a book marker which had a an verse from the poem "A Kite for Aibhin" on it. After lunch they listened to very interesting  Storytellers who made the characters come alive through their storytelling. Primary 7 had a very memorable day and would like to thank all the staff at the Seamus Heaney Hompelace for giving them a fantastic day.  They also saw  Anahorish Primary school where Seamus Heaney went as a boy and the Bellagy Bawn.

We all got busy filling our shoeboxes for those who are not as fortunate as we are.

We loved wearing our Odd Socks to school.

Primary Seven boys had a brilliant day representing our school in the Cumann na mBunscol 5-A-Side indoor football tournament.

They played brilliantly and displayed excellent skills during all the games. Well done boys. We are very proud of you all!

We are celebrating Anti-Bullying week this week (13th November - 17th November).  Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors have organised a Poster Competition, on Thursday we are having a smile and pay a compliment day and on Friday we are dressing in blue and dropping everything to dance day!!  We are proud to be a school where we are all different but all equal!!

We really enjoyed our annual dress up day for Halloween.  We hope everyone enjoys their Mid Term and stays safe over the holidays!!

What an amazing Fun Day we had today!!  First of all we had Trevor Price - Magician and what a show he put on amazing us all!!  Then we had an amazing lunch and a disco to say a fond farewell to our Primary 7 pupils! 


What a brilliant evening at our Leavers Concert!  Well done to everyone who performed and we wish our Primary 7 Class and Eimear (P5) well in their new schools!!

We had a fabulous Creggan's Got Talent today!!  So much talent in this school it is unbelievable.  Well done to all who took part and to Jude (P5) who was the overall winner!!

We had a brilliant morning at the club this morning running our 'Green Mile'!

We all dressed up in blue for the day and when we heard the music we had to drop everything & dance. This was to tell everyone that we do not tolerate bullying in our school!

P.6 join with pupils from Maine for peer mediation training. They had a brilliant morning.

Primary 5 & 6 had a wonderful talk today from Tessa on behalf of the Dairy Food Council NI.  We learned all about having a balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise to keep our bodies healthy!!  What do you think of our groovy moves in our video!!

A proud day for Creggan as we welcome back our Mac Rory champions!

The Primary 7 girls had a brilliant day at the South West Cumann na mBunscoil camogie blitz held in Portglenone.

The girls played really well even with some injuries and learnt some new skills. The super weather made the day even better!!smiley

We had a wonderful craft day. Lots of fantastic Art, tasty chocolate and great music !!

All the lucky winners from our Easter Raffle! Thank you to everyone who bought and sold tickets throughout Lent. Lots of money has been raised for Trocaire. I'm sure everyone will enjoy eating their eggs on Easter Sunday :)

Look at all our amazing projects made from eco-friendly materials. We had a competition for each class to make an eco-friendly project based on their World Around Us topic. They made all this from recyclable materials. Well done to everyone and congratulations to the primary 7 class who won the prize.

Some of our Primary 6 pupils had a great day attending the Anti Bullying Ambassador training in Antrim Grammar School.  They will now be Ambassadors in our school ensuring we do as much as we can to prevent bullying!!

Primary 4,5,6 and 7 enjoyed some Irish Culture when they took part in a Céilí celebrating Irish dancing and music for St. Patrick's Day.


Everyone had fun learning  the Waves of Tory and The Walls of Limerick.

Primary 7 took part in the Cumann na mbunscol quiz in Saint Brigid's in Ballymena. They had prepared lots of information on the GAA and general knowledge. They performed really well and learnt a lot of new information when they were there.  Well done everyone!

World Book Day Celebrations! The costumes were fantastic..... we had so much fun!

We have been doing lots of Accelerated Reading this month. Well done to those who won prizes :)

Congratulations to all the pupils who received a special award from the principal in January. Well done everyone!
The Primary 7 boys along with 4 Primary 6 boys had a great day at the Cumann na mBunscol 5 a side Hurling event held in the Antrim Forum. They all played exceptionally well and got through to the final but unfortunately were beaten by 1 goal. Well done boys, you did Creggan Primary school proud.

Santa came and left surprises for everyone. The reindeer left such a mess !

All pupils were  fantastic in the Christmas shows. They put on a super performance  Well done everyone!
Primary 6 and Primary 7 visiting Strawberry Fields
Primary 6 and Primary 7 visited Strawberry Fields residential Home on Monday 19th December.  We sang Christmas carols and played our instruments for the residents.  It was a really enjoyable and festive visit!

Primary7 had a fantastic trip to the Seamus Heaney Homeplace. We have been studying several of his poems and we learned lots of interesting facts on our trip.

We listened to Seamus Heaney reciting some of our favourite poems e.g. Mid-term Break and Digging. Some of us had fun dressing up!

We made kites in the Creative Zone and used our imaginations to create new words.

We collected lots of shoeboxes for The Road of Hope!

We all dressed up in blue and designed posters in support of Anti-Bullying Week. Creggan P.S is a BULLY FREE ZONE!

Spooky Antics at Creggan P.S.

We learned all about the little hen today. We listened well to the story. We baked delicious scones and tasted the buttermilk. All the ingredients for our scones came from the farm. P.3s shared lots of interesting facts about bread and we saw a movie about the hen. We even learned about homophones. What a busy day we had!

The Police visited our School to tell us all about keeping safe on the Internet.  We learned lots of ways to keep safe especially the Key Word: SMART

We welcomed our new P.1s to school today. They had lots of fun and met their buddies who will look after them in September!
